DELTA GOODREM

Delta Goodrem in Custom Antoinette Fusillo: Her Wedding Welcome Party

Delta Goodrem began her wedding weekend in Malta with a welcome party that was both intimate and stylishly curated. The Sheer Bastion, a historic fortress overlooking Valletta, provided the backdrop for an evening that gathered loved ones from across the globe. Classic notes of Sinatra and Nat King Cole filled the air, while the bride set the visual tone in a gown designed exclusively for her by Melbourne bridal designer Antoinette Fusillo.

The custom Antoinette Fusillo gown captured a balance of structure and fluidity. Sculpted at the bodice, it featured a refined neckline edged with French lace, offering detail that was delicate yet intentional. The design then released into Antoinette’s signature draping of fabric that elongated the frame before falling away into soft, fluid movement. The effect was one of quiet drama, with each gesture and turn creating a ripple of motion, as though the gown was designed to dance alongside its wearer.

The tone of the gown was equally striking. A stunning pale blush hue distinguished it from traditional bridal white, introducing a subtle romantic warmth that felt contemporary while still timeless. This understated colour, paired with the lace detailing, reinforced the gown’s couture sensibility. Elevated yet understated.

Throughout the night, the gown became part of the celebration itself. As Delta laughed, embraced guests, and danced with husband, Matthew Copley, the gown echoed her movements with effortless fluidity. She described it as “the perfect first chapter,” and it was exactly that! A design that introduced the wedding festivities with elegance, romance, and ease.

Antoinette Fusillo’s artistry lies in these subtleties. Known as one of the leading Melbourne bridal designers, Antoinette is celebrated for her mastery of drape and her ability to combine structure with softness. Each gown is crafted with precision, but also with an instinctive sense of movement that allows the bride to feel unrestrained. The placement of French lace, the proportion of neckline to bodice, the fall of fabric, are all considered to ensure harmony between the design and Bride.

“It had a soft flow to it, almost like it was dancing with me through the night. It felt like the perfect first chapter to the celebration. A look that said: We’re here, we’re in love, and we’re about to have the time of our lives.” - Delta Goodrem

Delta’s ongoing collaboration with Antoinette Fusillo made this gown particularly significant. Having worked together on previous occasions, there was an established trust that allowed for a gown both personal and couture driven. For a night of celebration, Antoinette created a look that reflected Delta’s own sense of modern romance, refined, radiant, and entirely her own.

The gown set the rhythm for the weekend. Its pale blush tone, French lace accents, and signature Antoinette Fusillo drape transformed it into more than just an opening look. It became a symbol of the joy and anticipation surrounding the celebrations. Antoinette designed a piece that was not only stunning to the eye but meaningful in its creation.
